Pre-Surgical Instructions

IMPORTANT!
Congratulations on your decision to proceed in having a hair transplant! We are certain the results will prove to be of great personal benefit to you. Due to the significant personal commitment involved, we would like to take every opportunity to ensure that you receive outstanding results from our joint effort. It is for this reason that considerable detail is included in the following:

One week before Surgery:
If applicable,
  • Discontinue Vitamin E capsules
  • Stop using Monoxidil (Rogaine)
  • NO SPICY FOOD
  • No Aspirin (ASA) or drugs containing aspirin, ie. Bufferin, Anacin, etc.
  • No non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (Ibuprofen, Advil, Naprosyn, etc.
  • No Alcoholic Beverages
  • No Marijuana or mind altering drugs
  • No Marijuana or mind altering drugs

  • The night before the Surgery:
  • Wash hair thoroughly of dust and oils
  • Get a good nights rest!

  • The morning of the Surgery:
  • Wash your hair lightly before arriving to the clinic
  • Take the antibiotic tablets with a large glass of water one hour before arriving at the clinic
  • Have a regular breakfast, lunch or dinner before the surgery, but observe any restrictions with respect to meals and antibiotic use suggested by the pharmacist.
  • Avoid any type of clothing that requires being pulled over the head.
  • Please arrange to be picked up at the office after the surgery
  • Sedatives administered during the procedure will significantly impair your ability to drive for several hours following surgery.

  • Note:
    It is a good idea to trim your hair in order to ensure that washing and combing after surgery is as easy as possible.
